My Top 3 wedding venues

So lets talk venues! this is prob one of the top 5 wedding planning priorities brides need to get booked before securing other vendors. A majority of my brides have told me they start looking up to 2 years out! 2 years??? yes! As a makeup artist and hairstylist I have had the pleasure of being able to travel to so many beautiful venues from top floor suites overlooking the Boston skyline to stunning blue ocean views of Cape Cod.

There have been many venues over the past 11 years but there have been a handful that have left me in awe. Not only are these venues stunning but the staff has been extremely customer service oriented and have treated us artists very kindly. It’s so hard to narrow them down but here it goes.

Willowdale Estate Topsfield, MA

Willowdale is stunning all year round the grounds are wonderfully maintained you can have your wedding either indoors or outdoors under a tent. One of the many reasons I love Willowdale is the character and overall vibe. The rooms where you set up to get ready have a good amount of light and plenty of space to set up both hair and makeup stations. Every time I work at Willowdale I get so excited. Check them out!

Beauport Hotel Gloucester, MA

I am a total beach bum so how could I not have a venue near the ocean? The Beauport hotel is a new addition to Gloucester which has been predominantly the center of the fishing industry. If your looking for some amazing seafood this is the place to be! Each room has a great setup but being an artist who doesn’t want a room with a view? my favorite room has been the Ocean Front Jr. King suit with balcony. Perfect amount of lighting and view of the ocean what is not to love. Check them out!

Tupper Manor Beverly, MA

Tupper Manor is one of those venues that takes you back to another time from the fountain at the entrance, marble foyer, and architecture It is such an elegant venue. Ceremonies can be done outdoors or in their ballroom. Space is so important when setting up hair and makeup an area upstairs is where bridal parties can get ready and feel relaxed. This is perfect because everyone is together instead of being in different places and artists have to split up. Check them out!

Welcome to my Blog!

Hello everyone,

My name is Andreina Ortega also known as Nina this is my first time blogging so please bare with me! At first I was super hesitant to start a blog like what do I talk about? how do I even get started? will people even like what I post? That was just my insecurities talking. I’ve finally decided to take the plunge and create my blog in hopes to let you inside the hair and makeup world, but also answer many questions involving the bridal industry.

My journey started in 2007 fresh out of high-school still disappointed that culinary school wasn’t happening. I felt like a failure and didnt know what was in store for me. My mom had mentioned there was a few beauty schools in the area and I should check them out. I mean after all I was doing my hair, my patient little sister (bless her heart and scalp), and all my friends hair and makeup for parties or recitals. So I thought why not give it a shot maybe I will really love it. We arranged a tour at a few schools and we finally got to Blaine Beauty School. One of the instructors handed me a blow dryer and asked me to show him what I got. not only did I surprise him but I surprised myself.

A year later I graduated and was able to become a licensed cosmetologist. With assisting, networking, handing business cards and flyers left and right working retail for years I was able to pursue a full time hair and makeup artistry business. I am very grateful to have come such a long way and am honored to make people look but feel beautiful every time they leave my chair. Thank you for stopping by I hope you all enjoy my blog!
